Landscape paintings at the Musée Lambinet
A third edition of ‘Collectionneurs d'aujourd'hui’ kicked off this week at the Musée Lambinet.
This new display highlights a selection of 18 early paintings, all belonging to a single collector who wishes to remain anonymous. Begun in 2006, almost twenty years ago, this collection focuses on European landscape painting from the 17th to the 19th century.
The selection covers landscape painting from the 17th century, with masters such as Salomon Van Ruysdael, through the Barbizon School to the end of the 19th century. It also provides an opportunity to rediscover some unjustly forgotten artists, such as Alexandre-Félix Cals, who exhibited alongside Claude Monet in the early days of Impressionism.
