La Grande Scène du Chesnay - MUSIC-HALL COLETTE
Freely inspired by the life of Colette, this show, unanimously acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, is without doubt the most original of this season.
From the light pantomimes of the Moulin Rouge to the Académie Goncourt.
From journalism to the beauty salon.
From her scandalous affairs to her national funeral, Colette was a complex and modern figure. Drawing a parallel with a young artist of today, Léna Bréban stages a finely-crafted musical and theatrical show that moves back and forth between two eras. Alone on stage, Cléo Sénia sings, dances and handles the art of stripping in a series of jostling numbers that conjure up key moments in Colette's life, in dialogue with today's codes of feminism, nudity and freedom after more than a century of struggle. Set on a mobile stage, this theatrical, playful and sensual mirror between the impenetrable novelist and Cléo, like an echo between the lives of women of the past and those of the 21st century, is a delightful ode to freedom and the beauty of words.
