Théatre des arcades de Buc - ‘CHARLOT FESTIVAL’ CONCERT FILM by the Vesterman-Bjurström duo

A great family experience, and the best way to introduce youngsters to Charlie Chaplin.

A programme of three Charlie Chaplin films shot for the Mutual Film Corporation, recently restored by the Bologna Cinematheque and Lobster.

Films: Charlie Chaplin Skates, Charlie Chaplin the Policeman, The Emigrant, accompanied by the music of a piano/cello duo, as seen by audiences at the time.

For these three Charlie Chaplin films, two markedly different versions emerged. Either the simplicity of the solo piano, or the complementarity of the cello and piano duet, for music that embraces the movements and changing moods of these miniatures.

The music is melodic, sensual and rhythmic, blending in with Chaplin's humour, facetiousness and tenderness.
