Chateau de Buc- Concert d'1 Soir : Frida before Frida
Frida Kahlo was both an engaged witness of her time and an artist whose work has marked the history of Mexico as well as the history of art. She relentlessly questioned her relationship with the world.
With Céline Laly (vocals) and Maxime Echardour (percussion)
Stricken by several ordeals that mutilated her, Frida (un)painted herself ‘from the inside’ and bore witness to the metamorphoses she observed. This show tells the story of a female figure who appears where no one was expecting her. The ‘musical portraits’ of the Compagnie Les Gens de la voix are creations at the crossroads of music and literature. Somewhere between a concert and an artistic documentary, they explore the careers of women who have left their mark on their time. Through auditory and visual experiences, the spectator travels through perceptual layers to meet the character and her world.
