Being a spectator in the 17th century - Sganarelle ou le cocu imaginaire

The Montansier was built in 1777, but for this unique performance we're taking you back in time to the 1660s! Take part in an exceptional immersive experience by taking on, if possible in costume, the behaviour and manners of a 17th century audience.

Come along at 2pm to choose your seat and get all the instructions you need to play your part: you'll be able to access the stage, the proscenium boxes, the parquet floor, the parterre and the balconies. Please note that certain areas will be reserved for spectators in costume. We'll also give you the props you can use. Children aged 9 and over are welcome.

The show starts at 3 p.m. (the usual time for shows during Carnival). Everyone will have their own ‘rank’ and ‘role’, helped by companions on the different levels. You'll have to raise your voice, harangue the actors, interrupt the orchestra, throw (fake) rotten apples, pass around sweet notes, wave your fan, whistle and, above all, make a good ‘brouhaha’.

Come in costume!
