Gaétan Jarry has composed a royal programme if ever there was one: Charpentier's famous Te Deum

Charpentier's Te Deum, which was sung in 1692 for the victory of Steinkerque, had an unforeseeable destiny for its author, since in 1953 it became the Eurovision signature tune for the broadcast of the coronation of Elizabeth II. Here is a perfect link with Handel's grandiose Coronation Anthems, sumptuously recorded by the same performers in 2023.

Conducted by the Royal Opera Chorus and Orchestra, Gaétan Jarry sets the music of the English Crown alongside the Te Deum of the ‘Angel of French Baroque music’, with victorious trumpets and martial timpani supporting the choral acclamations.
